Need Blue Ocean ideas and a way to connect with Young Baby Boomer 50-65 + who has the highest income available to any age group in ! America today
perhaps most in need of health care BURNING today: BRAIN Fitness
improving cognitive health through fitness and well-being can be one of the most important priorities of our country in the next decade. Age is the biggest risk factor for cognitive impairment and that the baby boomer generation passes 65, the number of people with cognitive impairment should jump dramatically. In fact, more than 10,000 baby boomers turn 65 every day. After 65 years, the risk of being hit by the disease doubles every five years, so that almost half of people suffering from this disease by 85. What is the single illness can in the coming decades staggering resulting in nearly 10 million baby boomers will die with or from AD. "The National Institute of declining health research budget and the funding of research already low compared to other major diseases of our era, some have called it one of the largest predictable humanitarian disasters in history from America." Since research has shown that the prescribed exercise the single biggest opportunity to make a difference, I think this is a clear call for our profession. Education and exercise are key elements in building an effective cognitive re form program. As physical therapists, we know that these skills are the cornerstones of our skill set. Physiotherapists are highly engaged with the main target of this service: the silver generation! Individuals ages 50-65 + whose top concerns include their cognition future regarding the aging process! Strong evidence exists that the current baby boom generation is concerned about cognitive health and fears of Alzheimer's disease.
"Nigel Smith, director of strategy at AARP, framed the conversation by sharing 80% of the 38,000 adults over 50 respondents in the opinion poll AARP Member 2010 indicated" Staying Mentally Sharp "as their leading interest and concern over other important concerns such as social security and Medicare." Furthermore, these boomers also happen to have the highest disposable income for cash-based programs. They are known as "... the wealthiest generation in history ..." (3)
I think firmly that this strategy of prevention and wellness belongs to Physical Therapy market space where people can come for a confidential, exercise planning and education based on the latest available studies. a clinical program that allows PT clinics to implement a cost effective holistic approach.
I started to develop a program BrainyEX named to honor both my parents and my family who were on the difficult journey of Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia for over a decade ; a journey that had little hope directives and is both heartbreaking and scary to travel.
The first BrainyEx pilot was very successful in empowering participants to feel not only able to impact their cognitive health, but with significant changes in their lifestyle including exercise, dietary changes, sleep and stress management. The first results were measured by Lumosity and clinical cognitive tests. ALL improved! Since the first pilot we've added a evidenced- based on high cognitive test technology that adds both sophistication and validity of the program!
PT Plus in Elm Grove Wisconsin was our small pilot view. Amy Snyder, MPT, DPT, PT Owner Plus Milwaukee. "Our practice has hosted a focus group and cognitive pilot fitness program. the interest and enthusiasm of our customers for more on cognitive fitness surprised me. I think brain health and well-being has been under served by the health care system. Nobody asks questions or provides interventions until a problem occurs. As physical therapists, we have a wonderful opportunity to reach out to communities and or empower them to make healthy choices that will keep both their body and mind for many years to come. "We hope that your clinic will examine Brain Fitness as well! It is definitely a key part of the answer # 5 in the issue of $ 6 million
